Expert male breast reduction with board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. John Reilly. The Connecticut Gynecomastia Center is about 30 minutes from New Haven via CT-15.

Why New Haven Patients Choose Us
The drive from New Haven to our Trumbull office runs roughly 30 minutes via CT-15. That distance keeps the consultation, surgery, and follow-up phases manageable without major time off from work or class.
Quick CT-15 Drive
New Haven sits just 30 minutes north of our office along CT-15. Most patients fit the consultation between obligations and barely lose half a day in the process.
Procedure-Specific
Our office focuses on gynecomastia and male chest surgery. That narrow focus means deeper clinical experience for every patient who walks in.
Yale-Trained Surgeon
Dr. Reilly completed his plastic surgery training within the Yale program. He was also chosen as the chief of plastic surgery at Griffin Hospital.
Schedule Flexibility
We offer early morning and late afternoon consultation slots for patients who juggle work or coursework. Surgery dates can land on semester breaks, holiday weeks, or vacation time.

The Backstory
Our patient noticed chest fullness in his early twenties. It wasn’t severe, but it was enough to change how shirts fit and how he felt at the gym. He had been aware of it for years before deciding to look into surgery.
The Consultation
He came in on a weekday afternoon. Dr. Reilly examined his chest, confirmed Grade 2 gynecomastia with glandular tissue behind both nipples, and walked him through the surgical approach. The visit lasted about 45 minutes, and surgery was scheduled a few weeks out.
Surgery Day
Dr. Reilly performed gland excision and liposuction. The procedure took about an hour and a half. He was home by early evening with his compression vest on and discharge instructions in hand.
Recovery and Result
He took a few days off work and was back at his desk within a week. The chest flattened out noticeably in the first month, with the final contour settling in over the following weeks. The after photo shows a clean, natural chest profile with no visible scarring.
Recovery for New Haven Patients
How quickly you heal comes down to factors like age, baseline fitness, and your typical week. Your recovery plan reflects your real life, not a chart pulled from a textbook page.
Back to Campus or Desk
New Haven has a mix of campus-based students and downtown office workers. Most desk-based patients return to work after about five days. Students typically miss only a few days of class.
East Rock Park Season
Patients with summer plans for East Rock Park or Lighthouse Point Park usually book between November and February. The recovery window leaves you fully healed before the warm months hit.
Activity Milestones
Most patients are active within a few days after surgery. Light cardio gets the green light around the two-week mark. Chest-related strength work waits until four to six weeks out once the body more fully heals.
