Why Greenwich Patients Choose Us

Greenwich patients have two highway options to reach our office: either I-95 or the Merritt Parkway. Both routes take about 45 minutes outside of rush hour, which makes day-of consultations and follow-up visits manageable.

Closer Than a Manhattan Practice

Many Greenwich patients weigh us against Manhattan plastic surgeons. Our Trumbull office sits about 45 minutes north via I-95 or the Merritt Parkway, with no city traffic or parking hassles.

Procedure-Specific Office

Our office specializes in male chest surgery, with a dedicated focus on gynecomastia care. That focus translates to deeper case knowledge with every patient who walks in the door.

First Visit Efficiency

Your initial consultation covers the chest exam, surgical plan, and final price quote in a single appointment. Greenwich patients with packed calendars handle the whole evaluation phase in under an hour.

Surgeon-Led Care

Every interaction at our office runs through Dr. Reilly. He performs the consultation, the surgery, and the follow-up appointments personally. Junior staff don’t fill in for the surgeon at any stage.

Surgery Types

Care Plans for Every Grade

Greenwich patients arrive with cases at every grade level, from minor tissue puffiness behind the nipple to full Grade 4 cases with significant excess skin. Each patient receives a treatment plan tailored to their grade, anatomy, and the specific outcome they want.

Adult Gynecomastia

Adult gynecomastia cases come in various combinations of gland tissue and fat. Our two-pronged surgical approach handles both at once. The final result is a flat, masculine chest contour that holds up across daily activities.

Adult Gynecomastia

Teenager Gynecomastia

Teenagers between 15 and 18 work through a treatment process designed to respect both their age and the sensitive nature of the procedure. Parents stay involved throughout the consultation, surgery prep, and recovery stages.

Teenager Gynecomastia

Bodybuilder Gynecomastia

Patients who train at high intensity sometimes encounter chest tissue that won’t respond to diet or workouts. Common triggers include supplement cycles and hormone shifts during periods of heavy lifting. Surgical removal becomes the fix when other approaches fail.

Bodybuilder Gynecomastia

Revision Gynecomastia

Revision work makes up a steady portion of our case mix. Patients arrive after previous gynecomastia surgery elsewhere left them with hollow spots, residual tissue, side-to-side asymmetry, or visible scars from the original incision.

Revision Gynecomastia

Post Weight Loss Gynecomastia

Significant weight loss often leaves the chest with both loose skin and small remaining tissue pockets that workouts and diet alone can’t address. The combined approach handles both at one operation. You’re left with a tighter, more proportional chest contour that fits your post-weight-loss frame.

The Backstory

The pointed, cone-shaped chest is what bothered this patient most. It showed through every shirt, and layering only did so much. He had known about the issue for years before deciding to schedule a consultation.

The Consultation

Dr. Reilly identified dense glandular tissue concentrated directly behind the nipple, which was responsible for the forward projection. There was a little fatty tissue involved, so the plan focused on direct excision with a combined approach. He walked through what to expect and how recovery would look.

Surgery Day

This was a shorter procedure since it was only a grade 2 case. The gland tissue was removed through a small incision, and the fat was removed with liposuction. He left the office that afternoon in a compression vest.

Recovery and Result

Downtime was minimal. He was back to work in a few days and felt comfortable in regular clothing almost immediately. The cone shape is completely gone in the after photo. The chest lays flat with a smooth, natural contour and no sign of the projection that used to define it.

Recovery for Greenwich Patients

Recovery moves at different paces for different Greenwich patients. Age, fitness baseline, and the specifics of the procedure all factor in. Your individual plan reflects your real situation, with milestones that match how you actually live day to day.

Return to Work

Greenwich patients work in fields ranging from finance and law to private business and consulting. Most patients with desk-based work return to the office after about a week. Those with NYC commutes often resume the train ride at the ten-day mark.

Tod’s Point Season

Patients with summer plans at Tod’s Point or weekends along Long Island Sound usually book surgery between November and February. The buffer leaves your chest fully healed and the compression vest off well before Memorial Day weekend.

Back to Training

Most patients are walking within a few days post-op. Light cardio becomes safe after about two weeks have passed. Anything that loads the chest, including pushups, bench work, and heavy resistance training, waits until the four to six week point.

Top Patient Concerns from Greenwich

Greenwich patients preparing for gynecomastia surgery tend to do their homework first. These are the questions the Connecticut Gynecomastia Center hears most often.

The trip from Greenwich runs about 45 minutes via I-95 or the Merritt Parkway. Backcountry residents may add a few minutes to reach the highway, while Cos Cob and Riverside patients tend to find I-95 quickest.

Yes, tissue removed during surgery is sent for routine pathology review. The vast majority of cases come back as standard gynecomastia with no concerns. The pathology check is a precaution that catches the rare case where something unexpected shows up.

For true glandular gynecomastia, surgery is the only reliable solution. Medications like Tamoxifen show minimal effects in most cases. CoolSculpting and other fat-reduction options can address pseudogynecomastia, which is fat-only, but they don’t touch actual gland tissue.

For Greenwich patients with summer plans at Tod’s Point or Greenwich Point Park, surgery between November and February sets you up well. The four to five month healing window leaves your chest fully recovered before warm weather arrives.

Most sutures dissolve on their own and don’t require removal. Some cases use a few non-dissolvable stitches that come out at the one-week post-op visit. The removal itself takes only a few minutes during the appointment.
